BLOG

Welcome to the blog section, and thank you for navigating your way here.

It's always been my intention, since I left journalism to pursue teaching full time, to write about yoga, my experiences with the practice, and the philosophy behind it.

Additionally, I want this to be a space for you to learn more about yoga, as well as providing an area for me to showcase your experiences, both good and bad.

As I pen this, I have just had my first baby (July 2025), and I plan to begin the blog by writing about my birth experience (which was pretty traumatic and did not go to plan, despite me using all the techniques I've learned from a decade of practicing and teaching yoga, including pregnancy yoga). I then plan to open the blog up to any women who feel they want their stories told, and for them to share with others their experiences of birth.

This series of posts are by no means intended to scare anyone away from a natural vaginal birth, pregnancy, labour, or birth as a whole. They're designed purely to raise awareness and provide hope and solidarity to those women who may have had similar birth experiences to me, and to let them know they're not alone. The posts are also designed to provide women with the power to choose how they want to birth their child, either vaginally, via c-section, in water, or at home. I want them to be a source of comfort and a source of support to those who may need it most.

Outwith the pregnancy and birth posts, I will do my best to dive into yogic philosophy, providing you with a better understanding of yoga, not just as a physical practice, but one of a deep, spiritual nature.

I hope you enjoy the blog and the posts as much as I will enjoy writing them, and if you have any suggestions for future posts, or would like to know more about certain elements of yoga, please don't hesitate to ask.
